TL;DR

Mary is a compliance-data sync operator with a paired review workflow. Each morning she is built to pull the vendor's state track-and-trace package state, reconcile it against the vendor's TerraVault inventory, and produce a structured report. A closed taxonomy of divergence types covers every flagged row; a clean sweep is its own sentinel. The vendor reviews and decides; Mary never writes back to the state system on the vendor's behalf in the current phase. Every sweep and every review decision is anchored to the Bonis Knox chain and is independently verifiable by chain index. The report format and Knox proof model are live and verifiable today; the live state-system sweep activates once the vendor's state-system integrator connection is provisioned. California first. Additional states ship with counsel review per state.

How Mary works

How Mary works.

The reconciliation engine, the report format, and the Knox proof model are built and live today. The steps below describe the end-to-end flow; the live state-system pull activates once your state-system third-party-integrator connection is provisioned.

Connect once
Vendor-self-serve credential connect inside your dashboard. Credentials are sealed in per-vendor secret storage — never plaintext in the database, never logged.
Daily sweep at 06:00 PT
Once the vendor's state-system integrator connection is provisioned, a scheduled job runs a read-only pull against the vendor's state track-and-trace account at 06:00 PT. On-demand sweeps are rate-limited per vendor. No data leaves the vendor's TerraVault tenant.
Side-by-side reconciliation
Mary compares the state-system package list against the vendor's TerraVault inventory and produces a structured report: state count, TerraVault count, matched count, what diverges, recommended vendor actions, confidence notes.
Closed-taxonomy discrepancy categories
Every flagged row is bucketed into a closed taxonomy of divergence types. A clean sweep is its own sentinel — Mary fits each row into a category or marks the sweep clean. The category list itself is internal.
Vendor-controlled review workflow
The vendor selects a review outcome — once per sweep — from a closed set of decision states. Free-text capture for the corrective action taken in the state system and in TerraVault. The review locks after submission and is timestamp-anchored.
Knox-anchored audit trail
Every sweep and every review decision is anchored to the Bonis Knox chain. Independently verifiable.

Why this exists

Operating a licensed cannabis business is two jobs. One is the business — sourcing, branding, fulfillment, customer relationships. The other is the daily compliance labor that the state track-and-trace system requires.

Most operators outsource the second job at recurring cost. That cost compounds across locations and across years. The work itself is high-leverage when done right and license-revoking when done wrong.

Mary is built to take the recurring labor — the daily read, the side-by-side reconcile, the divergence categorization, the audit-ready record — and hand the operator a structured report they can act on in minutes. The judgment calls stay with the operator. The compliance consultant stays in the loop where their judgment is what you're paying for.

Mary is designed to support the existing state-mandated track-and-trace regime — not to replace, route around, or speak on the vendor's behalf to a regulator without explicit vendor sign-off.

Posture

Capability Gate
Built and live today: the reconciliation report format, the vendor-controlled review workflow, and the Knox proof model. The live read-only state-system sweep activates once the vendor's state-system third-party-integrator connection is provisioned — it is not yet running in production and is not claimed as live. Write-back to the state system on the vendor's behalf is a further phase, gated on counsel review of an agency-of-vendor envelope, and is also not live.
Read-only against the state system
Mary never writes to the state regulator. Mary reads the vendor's existing state data and produces a report. The vendor takes corrective action in the state system manually.
Vendor in control
Mary drafts; vendor decides. No automatic remediation. No silent edits to TerraVault inventory based on a sweep. Every status change is signed off in the review form.
Knox-anchored, independently verifiable
Sweep payload hash + vendor-review event are appended to the Bonis Knox chain. A reviewer with the chain index can independently verify integrity without trusting TerraVault.

Write-back helper
Vendor reviews Mary's draft submission to the state system, then submits on click. Gated on counsel review. Not live.
Additional states
Additional states are on the roadmap. Each state ships with its own counsel review.
Per-product tag linking at scale
Per-product state-system tag linking is supported in the product workflow. Scale tooling expands as sweep history matures.

What this is not

  • Mary does not submit, edit, or transmit anything to your state regulator. Read-only.
  • Mary does not replace your compliance consultant or your in-house compliance staff. Mary handles the recurring labor — the judgment calls stay with you.
  • Mary does not exfiltrate vendor data. Sweep payloads stay inside the vendor's TerraVault tenant; the state-system response stays inside the sweep record.
  • Mary does not store your state-system credentials in plaintext. Per-vendor encrypted secret storage.
  • Mary does not silently amend your TerraVault inventory based on a sweep. Every change is a vendor action recorded in the review form.
  • Mary does not send raw vendor data to the model. The reconciliation spec sent for model processing has vendor-identifying fields tokenized as placeholders before send.
  • Mary does not replace any state licensing authority, the state track-and-trace regime, or your operator-of-record duties.
